Oass (Abhinav Shiv Tiwari, Nepal/India, 105 min. 2012): It’s the turbulent journey of Kiku from the innocence of childhood to winning the battle of survival. She is one the thousands of little girls who are bartered for money each year, to be shoved into the ever-growing sex trade, making it one of the largest contraband businesses today.
The Seattle South Asian Film Festival is a 6-day film festival produced by Tasveer in collaboration with the Film Festival Club at UW Bothell and Cascadia Community College, for people to discover, experience, and enjoy a range of South Asian films, workshops, and forums. SSAFF creates a lively, stimulating, and focused environment for conversation, education, and exploration of issues that face South Asian countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. 8th SSAFF will celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema.
