FEEDING THE HOMELESS
“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” ~ Anne Frank
Since December 2014, Human Rights Society is responsible to feed the homeless on the first Wednesday of each month at Operation Nightwatch in Seattle. We buy, prep, and serve dinner to 80+ “clients.”
Each night, an Operation Nightwatch’s volunteer team coordinates a night at a local shelter for each homeless “client”, gives them a bus ticket, a clean pair of socks, and have volunteers serve a free dinner. They also provide long-term senior housing as well as many other services to this population.
First Wednesday of Each Month
Team of 8 people prep, serve, and clean to feed 80+ “clients.” Our volunteer crew set up, prep food, serve food, and clean the kitchen at Operation Nightwatch. We volunteer from 6:45 pm to 11 pm (some volunteers have flexibility to come for a portion of the night).
