CHILDREN’S RIGHTS

Every Child Deserves A Childhood

Overview
Children deserve basic rights. From Africa to the U.S., children are being abused and neglected. Their human rights are violated: they’re being trafficked, left malnourished and homeless, forced into child labor, and in some areas, even sacrificed. Children are subjected to horrors that we can’t even begin to imagine. Millions of children are sold as slaves into labor trafficking working days and nights in terrible working conditions while over a million are forced into the sex trade each year. International Labor Organization (ILO) estimates 152 million children are involved in child labor. About 59 million children of primary school age are out of school. “The births of around one fourth of the global population of children under five have never been registered (UNICEF).”
