“A convicted sex offender was arrested on Tuesday on numerous charges including sex trafficking, after authorities located a teenage girl working at a Rhode Island strip club, according to Boston police and the state sex offender registry.
Troy Footman was charged with sex trafficking of a minor in Providence, failure to register as a sex offender in Seekonk, and driving without a license. He was arrested in the parking lot of Cheaters, a Providence strip club, Boston police said in a statement Saturday.
Inside Cheaters, authorities found a victim, a 15-year-old girl from Boston, working at the club, police said.
According to the Providence Journal, another 15-year-old girl who was missing from Brockton was found in Footman’s room at Mary’s Motor Lodge in Seekonk.
Providence police could not be reached for comment Saturday evening.
Footman had been convicted of numerous charges dating back to 1986 such as aggravated rape and inducing a minor into prostitution, according to the Massachusetts sex offender registry. His last known address was in Dorchester, the registry said.
Boston police said they worked alongside Providence police, Seekonk police, and the Department of Homeland Security to arrest Footman.”
