ABOUT ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA | Alpha Kappa Alpha is the oldest Greek Letter organization established in America by and for Black college women. Nine Howard University students were led by Ethel Hedgeman Lyle into a sisterhood on January 15,1908. She viewed the Sorority as an instrument for enriching the social and intellectual aspects of college life by providing mental stimulation through interaction with friends and associates.
